Abstract. A field study was conducted to devaluate root distribution of ‘Bluecrop’ highbush blueberry. The root system was primarily composed of fine, thread-like roots less than 1 mm in diameter. Roots were found at depths of 0-60 cm and tended to concentrate in the upper of 0-40 cm of soil. Nutrient contents in the soil were diversified between plantations and layer of the soil.

Summary
A field study was conducted to devaluate root distribution of ‘Bluecrop’ Highbush blueberry. The root system was primarily composed of fine, thread-like roots less than 1 mm in diameter. Roots were found at depths of 30-40 cm on mulched plantations. Roots were in the decomposing layers of the sawdust mulch (respectively: 24.4% at Niemce and 35.6% at Matcze) and tended to concentrate in the upper of 0-40 cm of soil. Nutrient contents in the soil were diversified between plantations and layer of the soil.
